Know what was true.
Trace why.

Chronal Studio is a desktop app for notes, facts, and events that change over time. Your writing stays in ordinary files on your computer. Studio helps you see what was true on a chosen date and which source supports the answer.

No account or cloud workspace required. AI is optional, and suggested facts never enter your project until you review them.

Your writing beside the facts and dates you have reviewed

The continuity problem

Your notes say what happened. Chronal helps you understand when and why.

Long-running projects accumulate people, places, claims, decisions, and consequences. The latest note rarely explains what was true earlier—or which event made the current answer true.

Chronal keeps your writing connected to reviewed facts and events. You can move through a timeline, follow relationships, ask a question, and see the source behind the answer.

From a note to an answer,
without copying your project.

Every view reads the same files, so the timeline, graphs, and answers stay connected to the writing you started with.

  1. 01

    Write the source

Write people, places, events, claims, and notes in Markdown, a simple plain-text format.

    Readable text
  2. 02

    Review the facts that matter

Add dates, changing facts, who knew what, and cause-and-effect links. Nothing suggested by AI is saved without your approval.

    You approve changes
  3. 03

    Ask and verify

Ask what was true at a chosen time, see what changed, and open the exact source that supports the answer.

AI is a choice

Local AI—always local, always reviewable, always optional.

Chronal's built-in AI can read selected writing and suggest facts or events. The model runs on your computer, its suggestions stay separate from your saved project, and you decide what to keep.

Use local AI

Install a supported local model when you want help turning prose into proposed facts, dates, or cause-and-effect links.

Bring your own agent

Optionally connect Codex, Claude Desktop, or another compatible agent through Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard way for an agent to use Chronal's project tools. An outside agent may use a cloud service, so its own privacy terms apply.

Use neither

Writing, timelines, graphs, point-in-time views, questions, and source tracing all work without a local model or a connected agent.

Built for trust

Your project remains yours.

Local files are the foundation.

Projects are ordinary folders with readable notes and small data files that store the facts and events you approve.

Suggestions are never authority.

Optional local AI can suggest facts and events. You review, revise, accept, or reject them.

Answers carry their evidence.

Chronal shows which source supports an answer, what earlier information it replaced, and when the answer applies.

Bring time into the workbench.

Chronal Studio is coming soon. Until then, explore the product through Greyhaven Demo and see how a source becomes a traceable answer.
